Do Son

Biography

Do Son was born in 1943 in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam. His works are in the collection of the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, the National Gallery of Singapore, and corporations in the USA, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, and Morocco. Do Son’s works represent his freedom of expression of the period in Vietnam after the French occupation. For the first time, he could paint the lifestyle of his village folks and their way of life in his primitive style.

It can be said that Do Son is truly exceptional among contemporary Vietnamese artists, as his captivating paintings have traversed numerous countries across the globe. Renowned for his distinct expertise in nude painting, each of Do Son's works evokes a profound connection with the destiny of women. Interestingly, his art explores the realm of elegance, as well as daily activities. In fact, Do Son's masterpieces have even captured the attention and admiration of the esteemed King of Morocco, highlighting the widespread appeal and acclaim of his artwork.

1965: Joined the army

1986-1970: Artist of Liberation magazine ( in the middle central of Vietnam)

1970-1973: Artist of The People’s Army Newspaper, Hanoi.

1987: Graduated from Hanoi Fine Art University.

Member of Vietnam Fine Art Association.
